International Women’s Day
Equality for women is progress for all
In conjunction with International Women’s Day World Alliance for Breastfeeding Action invited all people to take the opportunity to reflect on the social changes necessary to ensure full economic, political and social equality for all women. They also emphasized the breastfeeding mothers who face numerous challenges in their quest to provide the best for their children and families. WABA called upon individuals and communities to recognize the value of breastfeeding to women, children, families and communities. Full equality for breastfeeding mothers would in fact contribute toward progress for all. They also encouraged governments, employers and health care organizations to enable mothers to be near or with their infants while at work.
