Liberia joined the SUN movement on 3 Feb 2014. They became the 47th country to commit to scaling up nutrition with the SUN movement. The government of Liberia is deeply committed to scaling up nutrition investments, designing intervention to fight malnutrition and making progress over the last three years. This country also identifies nutrition as a national priority and an overall development agenda. They join the Scaling Up nutrition movement to find opportunities to share and learn from experience with other SUN countries also harness support from the SUN international community. The Ministry of Health and Social Welfare (MOHSW) in Liberia is already engaged in the process of developing a multi-sectoral, national nutrition implementation plan that embraces both direct nutrition intervention as well as nutrition sensitive action. That can help to achieve positive nutrition outcomes for the country.
