Due to vast improvement in the health of the countryman, the Prime Minister of Bangladesh is to be awarded intentionally as a successful leader of state
The Prime Minister of Bangladesh Sheikh Hasina is to be awarded as a successful state leader very shortly through a reputed international program due to massive improvement in the health of the countrymen. This award is to be given among the United Nations member countries. The UN has invited the Prime Minister to attend and give speech in a grand program to be held on the next month. Health Secretery M. M. Niazuddin in program in Bangabondhu International Convension Center has given the information to all on 11 August 2014. The Secretery said that Bangladesh has done profuse improvement in the health sector of the country throughout the last few years.
So the United Nations are going to award the Prime Minister of Bangladesh as a successful state leader.

Mother’s care first: Prime Minister
Honorable Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina called for creating mass awareness on breastfeeding among children and increases the rate of feeding homemade supplements instead of milk powder and tinned baby food. The PM on 6th August urged all to ensure the mother’s care first and made the remark while addressing the inaugural ceremony of the World Breastfeeding Week-2014 at city’s Osmani Memorial Auditorium. Prime Minister stated that the present government has taken extensive programs for development of maternal and child nutrition. The PM added that Maternity leave has been raised to six months from three-month and breastfeeding corner introduced in government and non- government offices and she also informed that working mothers are provided maternity leave with salary, adding that steps have been taken to strengthen campaigns for breastfeeding and homemade supplements. Steps have been taken to make all hospitals and health complexes child-friendly, Sheikh Hasina stated. Due to government steps, the rate of exclusive breastfeeding increased to 64 percent from 46 percent, she added. Among others, health minister Mohamamd Nasim other high officials of the ministry of health andfamily welfare, the institute of public health nutrition and Bangladesh breastfeeding foundation attended the program.
Government hardens against unlawful marketing
The government is preparing to take legal actions against 10 baby food companies and doctors for violating law in marketing and promoting breast-milk substitutes. Dr Shah Newaz, director of the Institute of Public Health and Nutrition (IPHN), at a press conference at the health ministry on 6th August informed all that according the ten complaints from the community the government legal adviser is preparing how to take legal actions against the law violators. There are complaints that some companies are marketing baby food without IPHN registration, providing gifts to doctors or buyers to promote their products, IPHN Legal Adviser BM Elias also mentioned. Again some doctors prescribe substitutes for breast milk even before completion of six months of babies which act is a serious violation of the Breastfeeding Substitute Baby Food (Marketing Control) Act, 2013. The IPHN representatives also mentioned that they will soon serve legal notices to the companies and doctors concerned. If they fail to provide satisfactory answers, the authorities will go for legal actions. BM Elias also informed that between 2000 and now, there were no cases filed against the baby food companies or doctors violating laws. They all said that exclusive breastfeeding up to six months of age of a baby had a lifelong impact on her health, but there were many men and women who did not care about it.
