Honourable Minister of MOHFW Mohammed Nasim, MP Launches Health Bulletin 2013

The launching and publishing ceremony of “Health Bulletin 2013” was held at the Conference Room of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on 23rd March, 2014.  The Management Information System of Directorate General of Health Services organized the ceremony. Honorable Minister of MOHFW Mohammed Nasim was present as the Chief Guest of the ceremony and the Director General of DGHS Prof Dr Deen Md Nurul Huq presided the launching and publishing ceremony.  Honorable Member of the Parliament Dr Habibe Millat was present as the Special Guest and Honorable Health Secretary M M Neazuddin was present as the Guest of Honor. Prof Dr Abul Kalam Azad, Additional Director General (Planning & Development) and Director, MIS presented the Health Bullein 2013 and finally the Honourable Minister of MOHFW Mohammed Nasim, MP expressed gratitude to all officials related to the publication. This Health Bulletin is an annual publication and is the mirror of Bangladesh’s current health situation. The Bulletin is in short enriched with health related data, statistic and reports.

Tk 58,000 crore master plans adopted for agri-sector uplift in coastal districts: PM

The Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina stated that her government has undertaken a master plan for the development of agriculture sector in 14 coastal districts. The Prime Minister also hoped that this master plan for Agriculture Development in Southern Region of Bangladesh has been undertaken for ensuring food security, removing poverty and improving the living standard in those coastal districts of the south region. The leader of the house also informed that the master plan will be implemented within 2021. This project has 85 activities on the basis of four priorities-highest, high, medium and low. The government has framed the National Agriculture Policy 2013 for the development of agriculture and farmers as well to the greater improvement of the national economy. Producing more crops, ensuring food and nutrition for all by creating scopes for employment through diversifying agriculture program is the main goal of the policy. She also added that the government has taken various program to achieve the goal. Training for farmers on seed-producing demonstration farms and strategy on producing quality seeds, uninterrupted supply of electricity in the Boro season, expansion of activities of environment-friendly pesticide management and coordinated crop management are the main steps that government will execute.
