The FAO Regional Conference for Asia and the pacific was held at Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia10 to 14 March 2014. The 32nd session was hosted by Ministry of Industry and Agriculture, Mongolia. The main theme of the conference was the opportunities and challenges in the region and priority areas of work to improve food security and nutrition, increase agricultural productivity, raise the standard of living in rural populations and contribute to sustainable economic growth. Notable participants were the representatives from the governmental, non-governmental, intergovernmental organizations, United Nations organizations, civil society and the media. In the conference first two days discussed on regional and global policy and regulatory issues in the Asia-Pacific region and last two days discussed focusing on measures to speed up progress of alleviating hunger in Asia-Pacific countries and a round table on the double burden of malnutrition was held on the last day of the conference.
